Alvarez spent years developing the Artist Elite series of guitars with a focused goal — to create custom-shop-worthy instruments with specially selected tonewoods at an surprisingly low price point. The Alvarez AMPE915EARSHB Parlor is a shining example of this. With a warm, welcoming tone and stunningly good looks, it’s a guitar ‘ll be proud to own and play.
Unique tonewood combination
This Artist Elite Parlor gets its rich, warm, open voice from the combination of a Macassar ebony body and AA North Western red cedar top. Cedar’s warmer voice and slightly attenuated transient attack give it a smoother sound than spruce, and many feel a richer harmonic content. For the smaller body of a parlor it’s a delightful marriage with the strong bass, clear highs and slightly scooped mids of the Macassar ebony sides and back.
Peerless construction
Alvarez has always paid distinct attention to the internal details of their acoustic guitars. With tracking patterns that are carefully designed to get the best out of each body size while optimizing the generated sound energy of the solid wood soundboards. The Bi-level bridge was designed to improve sustain and response through heightened string tension for a tone that sings. Matched with the real bone nut and saddle, the attention to detail in construction helps the Artist Elite Parlor to project without sounding harsh or strident. The Alvarez SYS100 pickup system is easily controlled from the soundhole of the guitar, keeping the look of a traditional acoustic while still allowing to plug in and go when need the extra sound.
Parlor-sized guitars are a great choice for finger-picking, around the house strumming, vocal accompaniment that’s subtle but rich and are pretty much a go-anywhere acoustic choice. This Alvarez Artist Elite Parlor brings all that to the table and then adds both stunning looks and the unique voicing of its combination of tonewoods. From coffeehouse shows to concert stages, or from living room to the campfire, it’s a guitar that will keep playing for years.
