These decorative round placemats are inspired by Japanese kumiko woodworking, which has been used for centuries to create intricate latticework screens. An abstract botanical motif shifts gradually in line weight, creating an ombré effect within each twelve-sided placemat. Kaleidoscope is part of Chilewich’s collection of “pressed” designs. Made of phthalate-free vinyl, each one can stand alone as a placemat or function more like a charger, surrounding a plate with its lace-like form. To clean, simply wipe with warm water, mild soap, and a soft sponge.
